Why Consider an International Study Abroad Program?

An international study abroad program is a fantastic way to further your higher education. Only four percent of undergraduates participate in such a program, so by doing just that, you're separating yourself from the pack. Your international study abroad history will look great on any resume or application. And besides, who wouldn't like to experience the excitement and adventure of traveling to a foreign land as a university student?

There are a multitude of international study abroad program choices out there from which you can choose. There are programs that last a short time, like a week. Then there are programs that last as long as a year. And of course, there's everything in between, like semester programs and summer programs.

You'll find no shortage of amazing destinations to visit and programs to become involved with. For example, there are international study abroad program choices that focus on one particular country, like France, Italy, China, Costa Rica, Spain, Mexico, and so many more. Then there are multicountry programs where you can travel to and study in a variety of countries. One example of this is a Mediterranean program, where you'll get to go to such amazing places as Greece and Italy. Another option is a cruise like the Scholar Ship.

The Scholar Ship is a cruise ship that takes students on a sixteen week journey to eight different countries. The Shore Program offered allows students to immerse themselves in studies in all these different countries. And let's not forget the education and experiences you'll have while on the ship! Ship life is a diverse, multicultural learning experience that you'll never forget!

An international study abroad program is truly one of the best ways to enhance your educational experience while traveling to places you've always wanted to visit. You'll have experiences that you'll remember for a lifetime, and develop friendships that span global boundaries.

Think you can't afford an international study abroad program? Think again! With scholarships and financial aid programs, every student has a chance to apply for one of these amazing academic programs. Talk to your guidance counselor about how to apply, and get started early because the process can be time consuming. The sooner you take care of all necessary red tape, the sooner you'll be on your way to the trip of a lifetime!
